18.MONASTERY

Franciscans are present in Perast from the midle of the16th. century. Mazarevich are the donors of the monastery (1679). In twentieth century it was the centre of the rank Maid servant of little Jesus.

The church is dedicated to St.Antun. A stylish mixture of Renaissance and Baroque.

Archaic little church from the eastern side. The witness of a premonastery epoch.

The church tower with romanic openings and square domed roof on a square base. Bell tower and defensive tower.

Vault tunnel controls the passage toward the north. The monastery is surrounded by a high stone wall. the entry is strictly closed.

However, the way that monastery is adjusted in the ground opens it towards the sea.

All main front walls face the sea.
