50.AT THE END OF THE BOOK

Baroque Perast vanished in an instant. In a small historic span. Approximatly - one century.

Its Golden age lasted from the Great earthquake to somewhere in the seventh decade of the 18th century. The buildings of great urban value emerged then. They exceed by far the size of the small community.

They characterize Boka and Primorje.

Yet, it is more important that the palaces, churches, fortresses, squares and stairs from Perast melted into a uneque complete ness with its surroundings. With the sea, the sun and stone.

The spirit of the place filled the contents of toponym:

MASTER OF THE ARCH.

The tight union of twelve noble brotherhoods led Perast's society to high European achivement.

The Golden age of the citizens of Perast passed. But its classic urban structure remaind.

That aristocratic completeness has lasted 250 years beyond the course of Modern times.
